As there are several types of mobile phones available in the market today, there are also several types of mobile phone batteries available currently. Basically, the mobile phone batteries serve as the life blood of the mobile phones because without them, the mobile phones won’t function. Even the mobile phone chargers cannot help if the battery is not good.

When the designers of the mobile phone batteries design them, they make their best effort to give them longer service and make it more durable in nature. There are basically four types of rechargeable mobile phone batteries. However, each of them has both utilities as well as problems.

• Lithium Polymer is the most advance type of mobile phone batteries. These are very much light in weight. It does suffer from any memory effect when rechargeable batteries are not fully discharged between the charge cycles. These are thin in nature and are very much rare.

• Lithium Ion batteries are the most popularly used mobile phone batteries. They are however expensive but are durable as well. If over charged to a great extent, these batteries can get damaged.

• The Nickel Cadmium mobile phone batteries use old technology as a result of which they are not in use often. People however are most familiar with this kind of rechargeable battery. They suffer from the memory effect and are environmentally not friendly.

• Last but not the least the Nickel Metal Hybrid Batteries are superior to the former one. These mobile phone batteries are made up of non-toxic materials and so they are quite friendly to the environment.
